The short version. AuthNest is free. Your vault is encrypted on your device and stored in your own Google Drive, so you hold it and we cannot read it. Because we cannot read it, we also cannot recover it: if you forget your master password and lose your recovery key, nobody can open your vault, including us.
Keep your master password and recovery key safe. That is the one responsibility this software cannot take off your hands.
AuthNest is published by Neh Patel. Using the AuthNest Android app or the AuthNest browser extension means accepting these terms. Contact: nehpatel.authnest@gmail.com.
A password manager with a built-in authenticator and passkey support. It encrypts what you store on your device and keeps the encrypted result in the private application folder of your own Google Drive.
There is no AuthNest account and no AuthNest server. Your Google account provides storage; we operate nothing in between.
Nothing. AuthNest is free to download and use, with no subscription, no paid tier and no advertising. If that changes, existing features will not be taken away from anyone already using them without notice.
This is the part worth reading twice.
Keeping a copy of your recovery key somewhere safe is your responsibility.
Everything in your vault belongs to you. It is stored in your Google account, and you can remove it at any time by following the steps on the delete your data page. Doing so destroys the only stored copy.
What AuthNest does and does not handle is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Do not use AuthNest to store credentials you have no right to hold, to break the law, or to attack other people's accounts. Do not attempt to disrupt the service for others, though there is little to disrupt: the software runs on your device and talks only to your own Google Drive.
You may inspect, test and report weaknesses in AuthNest. Reports are welcome at the address above.
AuthNest is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. It is offered free of charge and built with care, but no software is free of defects, and you use it at your own risk.
To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for loss of data, loss of access to accounts, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from using AuthNest. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Your vault's availability also depends on Google Drive, which is outside our control.
You can stop using AuthNest at any time by uninstalling it and deleting your vault from Drive. There is no account to close and nothing to cancel.
If these terms change, the revised version will be posted here with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Continuing to use AuthNest after a change means accepting the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of Gujarat, India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
